Service Description: A non-profit charitable organization. The purpose of the organization is to support people who have a developmental disability, to live, work and play in their own community.
ADULT DAY SERVICES - Opportunities for vocational and on-vocational activities such as education, volunteerism, recreational and leisure activities and employment.
YOUTH SERVICES - A social club where youth of all abilities gather together weekly to enjoy sports, crafts, movies and other activities. Getting Connected in North Durham is a support program to assist high school graduates make a smooth transition from school to the adult community.
FAMILY SUPPORTS - Assistance with planning for the future, problem solving and advocacy.
COMMUNITY ACCESS PROGRAM - Free public access to the Internet and the skills needed to use it effectively.
RESIDENTIAL SERVICES - A number of residential options are available within Scugog, Brock and Uxbridge. The Supported Independent Living program is designed to assist people as they live independently in their own home. Group Homes provide 24 hour support to people who live together. The Family Home program provides the option for someone to live within a family setting. Care and assistance is provided by the family they are matched with.
RESPITE SERVICES - Two respite homes provides brief periods of planned, overnight respite for families. Adult respite is offered from Sunday to Friday at one location and Monday through Friday at the other. Respite is offered to families who have children with intellectual disabilities. Children's respite is offered from Friday to Sunday.
